Welcome to The October Edit, wedding photography and videography based in Brisbane, Australia.

We are a husband and wife wedding photo/video team, with Dani acting as as your wedding day advocate, editor, and hybrid photo/video shooter, and Darcy working behind the scenes curating your gallery selection and video layout.

We know how important choosing a wedding photographer is. The day is a whirlwind of laughs, happy tears, hand squeezes and dancing, and then it's gone. I struggled with how to word this without being a bummer, because photography is more than a job to us, but I'll try to say it briefly. We have seen our work reshared by couples during all phases of life, sometimes in moments of grief. Sometimes the photographs we've taken are the last photos people have of a loved one, and that really embodies the trust that is being placed with us on the day. We've had a wedding day, we've welcomed four beautiful babies into the world. Photography to us is about trying to hold those moments, the ones that are all raw joy and love and warmth, and hold them in your hands to make it last a little longer. That is what we honour, that's the privilege we get trusted with.

Your day is important to us because we know how important it is to you. We will guide you, support you, laugh with you and cry with you. We get to know our couples so you can genuinely feel at ease and be your beautiful selves, and we will priorities you every step of the way.

Our approach is emotional, relaxed, and documentary-driven with a romantic editorial flare. We love working with couples who want to be present with their people, who give space for the unplanned magic moments (big and small), and who are excited to have fun and celebrate authentically. When we're not with our couples, you'll find us memory making with our tribe of small humans, eternally balancing the adventure vibe (horseriding, beaches, snowboarding) with the homebody gene (books, games, naps).
